Hello, Lake Shores neighbors. I hope everyone is enjoying the pleasant weather we’ve had this month.
Please join your Lake Shores neighbors at our next civic league meeting on Tuesday, May 19th, at 7pm in the Shelton Park Elementary School cafeteria. This will be our last meeting of the 2025-2026 year, and we will meet again on September 15th. Our guest speaker this month is from the Virginia Beach Real Estate Assessor’s office. As we all know, living in a popular place like Virginia Beach, and in an “affluent” neighborhood like Lake Shores, comes with some negative side effects like paying taxes. Please remember that tax rates are passed by our city council.
And we’re always looking for neighbors who want to be more involved in civic league planning and involvement. It’s not a lot of work, and new blood always vitalizes the organization. Currently, we need to fill one, three-year, trustee position. Trustee is a great way to get involved if you’ve not been involved before.
You’ll also be able to pay dues to our treasurer for 2026-2027. It’s only $10 per household, and you’ll need to be a member to vote on civic league business. Please remember to park in the back of Shelton Park Elementary School and enter the cafeteria through the two glass doors.
