Please join your Lake Shores neighbors at our next civic league meeting on Tuesday, March 17th, at 7pm in the Shelton Park Elementary School cafeteria. We’ll have a guest speaker from the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel Expansion project with the latest details on the status, how much work it takes to dig new tunnels, and information on Mary—the machine that’s been doing the tunneling. This team presented their presentation to the civic league of a friend of mine, and he had rave reviews.
We’ll also be voting for board members for the next year. It’ll also be an opportunity to nominate someone or yourself for a position before the actual voting. We’re always looking for neighbors who want to be more involved in civic league planning and involvement. It’s not a lot of work, and new blood always vitalizes the organization. New officers will take over in May for the 2026-2027 year starting in September. Currently, we have one trustee who’s three-year term is expiring this year.
If you weren’t at the last meeting, you’ll be able to give dues to our treasurer for 2025-2026. It’s only $10 per household, and you’ll need to be a member to vote for officers.

I want to know how to contact your president privately. You have an extensive website but does’t give any contact to pay dues or contact officers. I’ve lived here 6 yrs but also lived here ‘91-99. I was here in the early years of the civic league & am so disappointed that it still hasn’t improved to help the individual homeowners. After moving back here in 2019 I was able to join the civic league but never heard back after a year. You need to do better for the residents of Lake Shores. I’m willing to help!
Hi, Margaret. Sorry I haven’t replied but I normally log on prior to meetings to update details, speakers, etc. In our defense, we’re all volunteers with other responsibilities, jobs, families, etc. We’re also not a homeowners association, so I’m not sure what us not helping individual homeowners infers. We have 5 meetings a year, and are always looking (begging) for more people to get involved. The main reason we don’t have officers’ names and contact information posted online is because it’s not a protected secure site and some folks don’t want their details on the open market. I’ll put you on our mailing list, but the best way to get involved is to come to a meeting. Our next one is Tuesday, 19 May, at 7:00 at SPES. I’ll put you on our distro list.
