Lake Shores Neighbors,
Summer is almost over, and school has started. Hard to believe!
Our next meeting is September 19th, 7:00 pm, Shelton Park Elementary School cafeteria (enter behind the school). No social prior to the meeting. Yes, there will be an open house and book fair, but that will be in the front part of the school.
If you paid your dues earlier this year, you will be covered for 2023-2024. If you want to pay at our meeting on the 19th, that will also cover you for 2023-2024. Remember, it’s only $10 a year per household.
We are taking nominations for elections. Many of you have asked how you can get involved, particularly as it pertains to cut-through traffic, speeding, etc. Now is the time for you to help your neighborhood. Every office except one Trustee is open for election. If you are interested in running for President, 1st VP, 2nd VP, Treasurer, Secretary, or one of the 2 Trustee positions, please contact Dave Gresens (2nd VP) via NextDoor or at dhgresens@gmail. In order to vote, you must be a member. Voting members of a household are individuals who own and reside at the property, or are on a rental agreement.
At the meeting we will discuss the future of the Civic League and any particular speakers you’d like to have. Popular ones in the past have been a report from our VBPD liaison officer, internet scams (particularly at the elderly), ins-and-outs of flood insurance, and many others.
