Please join your neighbors and meet the Mayor!
We are very fortunate to welcome the mayor of Virginia Beach, Bobby Dyer, to our meeting in May. For this special Civic League meeting, we will hold it on WEDNESDAY to deconflict with the weekly City Council meeting on Tuesday, and will BEGIN AT 7:00 PM instead of 7:30. Also, we will end the speaker’s portion of the meeting promptly at 8:00 in order to have time for our normal Civic League business meeting (more on that below). You may want to arrive at 6:40 or 6:45 to get a good seat.
We have asked the Gardenwood and Diamond Springs civic league members to come as well. In order to ensure that pertinent and timely questions answered by the mayor, and to prevent duplication of questions, we ask all persons who have a question to submit them to our 2nd Vice President Dave Gresens at [email protected] by May 15th. This will allow the Mayor to address major topics at the beginning and specific questions when the floor is open. If you have a specific question that you don’t believe was answered, don’t want to ask a question in public, or don’t submit one prior but think of one during the evening, we will collect them and send them to the Mayor to respond to.
Remember, WE’RE BACK IN SHELTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL for our meetings! We’ll meet in the cafeteria. The best place to park and enter is the backside of the school in order to come directly into the cafeteria, particularly if you have any mobility issues. However, if you park in the front parking lot and come in the front door, someone will try to be there to open the door.
Don’t forget—we will begin at 7pm instead of 7:30, and meet on WEDNESDAY and not Tuesday.
