Participate in the Lake Shores Civic League outdoor Christmas light contest and you could win $25. You don’t have to be a member to participate (but we’d love to have you). There will be three categories to compete in:
1. “Reason for the Season.” This will be judged on lighting designs religious in nature. Not all decorations need to be religious, but the focus of the decorations should be spiritually oriented.
2. “Festival of Lights.” This category will reflect most ornate and best use of lights.
3. “Happy Holidays.” This encompasses decorations that are nostalgic, traditional, and contemporary.
If you want your home to be judged, there is no entry fee. If you want to enter, please PM me with your name, address, and which category(ies) you would like to enter. The deadline to enter is December 13th, and judging will be conducted starting December 14th between dark and 10pm, so leave your lights on through the weekend. Winners of each category receive $25. We’ll announce the results on the webpage and prizes will be awarded at the January meeting (you must be present at the meeting to receive the $25). Please visit your civic league’s website at http://lakeshores.org. If you can’t decorate but still want to participate, you can volunteer to be a judge!
